- WHETHER ALL DECISION TAKEN BY THE OFFICE-BEARERS AFTER SEPTEMBER 29, 2021 ARE ILLEGAL ?
Delhi : A controversial letter issued by the Directorate of Gurdwara Election has created mess in the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC). While giving details on this issue, Mr. Inder Mohan Singh, Expert in Delhi Gurdwara Affairs said that the Delhi Government’s Gurdwara Election Directorate in its letter dated December 31, 2021 informed the DSGMC that the tenure of the Executive Board has expired on September 29, 2021 and in absence of the required extension, the validity of the actions of the Executive Board at this stage may be liable to be called in question. Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that the information given by the Election Officer is not in compatible with the Delhi Sikh Gurdwaras Act 1971 because as per the Act the existing Executive Board can function till election of the subsequent Executive Board are held, as such there is no need for time to time extension of the tenure of this Board. Mr Inder Mohan Singh asked the Government that if as per Election Directorate the Executive Board is not in existence after September 29, 2021, in that event whether all decision taken by the Office-bearers of DSGMC after this date till now will be declared null and void ?
Mr Inder Mohan Singh while challenging the Delhi Government said that calling of meeting on January 5, 2022 for left-over Co-option process after a gap of about one month after the Delhi High Court gave clearance on December 9, 2021 for election of the DSGMC’s Executive Board creates doubt about its intention to delay the constitution of new Committee, whereas the new Executive Board could have been come into existence by now after completing the left-over Co-option process. Mr Inder Mohan Singh made an appeal to the Government to shirk away from giving controversial statements and instead focus on the immediate election of the Executive Board of DSGMC.
