transparency and accountability for our community by fostering access between the Elk Grove community and its local government and agencies. To achieve this, Elk Grove EDGE will engage in projects and advocacy efforts with institutions and systems such as Cosumnes CSD, the Elk Grove City Council, EGUSD, and Sacramento County. Elk Grove EDGE actively seeks to partner with other Sacramento County commissions and groups that have similar interests and goals. Our overall mission is to strengthen our communities and build relationships through intersectional initiatives, policy analysis, and other work.

With a focus on womxn* and girls, EG EDGE aims to create a community-driven voice for all identities and experiences in our city. Their mission is to advocate for policies to increase leadership opportunities, remove barriers, improve outcomes, and build resources here in Elk Grove. Currently, the EDGE Coalition is advocating for the improvement and implementation of procedures to report discrimination and harassment, workplace bias, and the selective enforcement of policies rooted in white supremacist heteropatriarchy. Subsequent projects will focus on information gathering and mindful policy recommendations to help our local agencies address systemic inequalities in a collaborative way. As a diverse coalition of Elk Grove womxn, including womxn of color, students, parents, and other community members, Elk Grove EDGE seeks to collaborate with Elk Grove governmental and social institutions to create, develop, and/or amend policies to promote gender and racial equity in our schools, public offices, and governmental agencies.
