Captain failed to live up the expectation of the Punjab people in getting justice in sacrilege and firing cases: Brahmpura
Sikhs got no justice from the congress governments even in anti Sikh riots in 1984 in Delhi, No hopes from Captain in 2015 cases of Sacrilege: Brahmpura
Captain has failed even stop drug smuggling though he had taken oath to eradicate those in four weeks: Brahmpura
Chandigarh : “Punjab Chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh has failed to ensure delivery of justice in Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura firing cases besides the Bargari sacrilege case of Guru Granth Sahib. After the High Court quashed the SIT even after it presented the challan(chargesheets) in Faridkot court which was also accepted by it, the legal team of the Punjab government failed to defend the case in High Court due to malafide intention of the Chief Minister,” alleged Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, former Khadoor Sahib MP and Veteran Akali leader from Majha region of Punjab in a press release to the media on Friday.
“Even General JJ Singh’s tweets have singularly pointed a finger at Captain Singh that he is playing a friendly match with Badals and wanted to save them .The SIT had questioned the role of the Sukhbir, the then Deputy Chief minister and home minister besides Parkash Singh Badal, the then CM in Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura firing cases besides some senior police officers. As the very influential persons were involved in those cases, so it was scuttled,” alleged Brahmpura.
Brahmpura said that it was cheating with the millions of people of Punjab and abroad because the case had shaken the feelings of the Sikh community in general and everyone.
“It was the responsibility of the Chief Minister to keep the SIT integrated and ensure a team work among those besides defending the case in the courts, but here the chief minister, who also holds the home portfolio, has intestinally failed to shoulder his responsibility,” he said.
He also questions how many SITs can be formed to borrow time to escape the responsibility by the state government headed by Singh.
“The case had gone to CBI, two commissions have been formed and two SITs have worked on those cases in the last 6 years while this SIT had concluded the inquiry, it has been quashed. Now it seems that Sikhs would not get justice in the sacrilege and firing cases,” Brahmpura said.
“The Sikh community even has not got any justice in anti Sikh riots in Delhi and several other places where thousands of the people were killed mercilessly even after 36 years, so we do not hope that Bargari and Behbal Kalan cases would also reach any decisive conclusion,” Brahmpura said.
Brahmpura also criticized Captain Amarinder Singh for his failure to eradicate drugs from the state.
“He had taken an oath by Gutka Sahib (holy text) in Bathinda on December 15,2016 that if his government came to power, he would eradicate the drugs in four weeks, but now drug smuggling has flourished under his chief ministership,” said the former MP.
Keeping in view the sentiments of the Sikhs, Brahmpura said that today the Sikh community is protesting by burning copies of such decisions. Above all, the sentiments of the entire Sikh community are attached to this matter and nothing matters to any Sikh above the principles of Sikhism. EOM
